Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 2, 41-51

Each year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover,
and when he was twelve years old,
they went up according to festival custom.
After they had completed its days, as they were returning,
the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem,
but his parents did not know it.
Thinking that he was in the caravan,
they journeyed for a day
and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances,
but not finding him,
they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.
After three days they found him in the temple,
sitting in the midst of the teachers,
listening to them and asking them questions,
and all who heard him were astounded
at his understanding and his answers.
When his parents saw him,
they were astonished,
and his mother said to him,
“Son, why have you done this to us?
Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.”
And he said to them,
“Why were you looking for me?
Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
But they did not understand what he said to them.
He went down with them and came to Nazareth,
and was obedient to them;
and his mother kept all these things in her heart.

Jesus’ parents

1) Transmitted faith. It is wonderful to see this attitude in Jesus’ parents! To transmit the faith is a very vital aspect in our life since the moment of birth. The moment when the mother or father put their kids to bed and pray together, when the family prays before each meal and when you pray together during family time. Going to mass each Sunday with the family is also an important example. All these are crucial examples to receive our faith and make it grow. They are acts of faith that move mountains. Faith, like every living organism, needs to be fed to be able to grow. We are witnesses of this faith. Can you remember your own experience, who transmitted faith to you?

2) Search for Jesus. The search must be continuous, but in fact, when you look around you see many of us are walking about without seeking Jesus. Nowadays, we live a fast-paced life; we are full of activities, and we often put off praying and speaking to God daily. The search for Jesus must be constant. Singing a song, reading a book, or reading the gospel, we need to use these instruments to get closer to God.

3) Mary. She is a vital pillar in our lives. Mary leads us to Jesus and has us in her heart because we are her children. Her love fills your heart, and her greatest wish is to lead you closer to Jesus, her eternal love. If you’re afraid, ask the Virgin Mary to lead you to Jesus. If you’re depressed and see no way out, pray to the Virgin Mary to lead you to Jesus. She will take you to Him. Together with the help of the Virgin Mary we can achieve so much!

May God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Remember that something good is on the way!
