Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10, 26-33
Jesus said to the Twelve:
“Fear no one.
Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known.
What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light;
what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;
rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy
both soul and body in Gehenna.
Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?
Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge.
Even all the hairs of your head are counted.
So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Everyone who acknowledges me before others
I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.
But whoever denies me before others,
I will deny before my heavenly Father.”
Everything comes to light
1. Nothing is concealed. In life everything comes to light sooner or later. Over time, the truth is always revealed. Don’t be afraid of what may be said about you on the journey. People talk. Hold your head high during those trying times and remember that the truth always comes out.
2. To shed light. Christians are called to bring light to life. You and I must illuminate and bring things to light, because living in darkness and ambiguities hardens us and doesn’t allow us to live in peace. Be clear about what you do and say, be clear about your intentions.
3. Do not fear. Remember that only God is to be feared. The Gift of Fear of the Lord is the gift of the Holy Spirit that moves our hearts to awe and wonder at God’s greatness, and to fear of losing our relationship with our Heavenly Father. So, in that sense we fear God, but we shouldn’t fear others. We are creatures have to fight together, no one is more or less than anyone else. You must respect everyone, but your heart should not fear, because it is with God.
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Always remember something good is on the way.
