Matthew 11, 25-30

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 11, 25-30

At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to little ones.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

Praise God

1) I praise You. This means being thankful for everything that He reveals to us in life. We understand life differently when we see it from His point of view. Life does not change; it is our outlook and how we live life. When we say, “praise the Lord,” we mean that we rejoice and give thanks for all He has done for us. He loves us and has redeemed us with His blood. He forgives our sins and heals our wounded hearts. We must praise God every day for what He has given us and continues to give us, and for how He helps us to lead a better life.

2) The little ones. The key to having a grateful heart and giving thanks in life is humility. This is the starting point in our daily lives and a clear path that guides us. Being humble leads us to realize that we are nothing, but that with God we are everything. How nice it is to lie on our back looking up at the sky, watching the stars and realizing how tiny we are in such a huge universe. Nevertheless, even being so small, we are God’s children. Each one of us is very important to God.

3) To know. Our daily task must be to continue to get to know God and be in his presence, in contemplation. That is why the way to get to know Him better is not found in books. True wisdom does not only come from reading books, but also from understanding what God wants for each of us. The key to knowing Him is to get close to Him, talk to Him and listen to Him. Let’s keep going and never give up, because God loves us – that’s another reason to thank Him.

Remember something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
