Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to saint Matthew 9,32-38
A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus,
and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke.
The crowds were amazed and said,
“Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
But the Pharisees said,
“He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”
Jesus went around to all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues,
proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom,
and curing every disease and illness.
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.”
Muteness
1) Demon. The etymology of the word devil comes from Greek “diabolos” meaning “accuser, slanderer”. Demon comes from Latin “daemon”, meaning “evil spirit, pagan deity, idol,” and also “to divide”. I mention this because before going mute you may first feel internally divided. When you feel divided you cannot express what is happening to you, because you are confused or because you simply do not know what is going on inside you. Perhaps something is happening within you that you do not know how to express. This produces anxiety and pain in your heart and that ends up tearing you apart, so life becomes hell for you.
2) Mute. When you are silent and do not know how to express yourself, or are afraid to express what is happening to you, the situation will end up consuming you. Do not be afraid to talk about what you are going through. Look for a confessor, a spiritual guide or a trustworthy person, who of course must be prudent. Being silent and keeping quiet can isolate you from yourself, from others and from life, then your life becomes a real hell.
3) Compassion. Today you can also heal someone simply by listening to them. Listening and accompanying others can relieve them a lot and heal them. You may not have the right words, or you may not know what to say, but I can assure you that your heart will be full in God. Take courage to speak and to listen because there is need of both. But, above all, you must remember that you are a Christian; you have Christ in you! Being conscious of that you can achieve everything.
Remember something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
