Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 14, 1-6
On a sabbath Jesus went to dine
at the home of one of the leading Pharisees,
and the people there were observing him carefully.
In front of him there was a man suffering from dropsy.
Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and Pharisees in reply, asking,
“Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?”
But they kept silent; so he took the man and,
after he had healed him, dismissed him.
Then he said to them
“Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern,
would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?”
But they were unable to answer his question.
Help and heal
1. They observed him. Today there still are people who observe your life and try to find your weak points. However, Jesus does not focus on that because He knows who He is and who you are. People will watch you to find weaknesses. You do not live your life to please them. Focus on yourself and your identity; do not live to protect yourself from other people’s scrutiny.
2. Heal. Jesus heals and shows us that saving someone is always above laws and rules. Do not allow rigidity in rules and regulations make you forget what is fundamental: helping others without expecting anything in return.
3. What is allowed. It is important to know that those who believe in God must help others and must not complicate the lives of others. Build others up in truth and be aware that you can do miracles. Do not focus on what others say to you or about you, focus on what you can do to help.
Never forget that something good is on the way! God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
