Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 21, 1-4
When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people
putting their offerings into the treasury
and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.
He said, “I tell you truly,
this poor widow put in more than all the rest;
for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth,
but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”
Give of yourself, not out of your surplus
1. He looked up. This is the attitude you need to have with yourself today. Look around you and what is in front of you. Maybe you are focused on looking at a single place, a single person or a single object and you are missing out on seeing things that can help you grow in life. Don’t get obsessed with things that do not add to your life and start looking at what appears in front of you and what God puts before you.
2. Those who give. These rich people that the Gospel speaks about gave their offering just for the sake of fulfilling an obligation, but they did not give from their heart, with a humble attitude. This may also happen with your life. If you no longer turn your attention to life and you just stick to satisfying requirements and doing things for the sake of doing them, then everything becomes nothing and you end up depositing something as valuable as your life just anywhere, without even thinking about it. You end up losing the taste of life, the value of things and you eventually lose yourself.
3. The widow. She offers all she has. This is how you have to live, putting all your effort into your day-to-day life. Stop banking your life on whatever comes and move forward. Assert yourself and value everything you do and experience. Value your daily actions, get out of bed and get going because you are worthy. Give everything you have every day, share and smile with whoever you can. Today give your best.
Always remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
