Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 16, 9-15

When Jesus had risen, early on the first day of the week,he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told his companions who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that he was aliveand had been seen by her, they did not believe. After this he appeared in another formto two of them walking along on their way to the country. They returned and told the others;but they did not believe them either. But later, as the Eleven were at table, he appeared to themand rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heartbecause they had not believed thosewho saw him after he had been raised. He said to them, “Go into the whole worldand proclaim the Gospel to every creature.”

Christ lives

1. Mary Magdalene. She is the woman who was considered to have had a difficult and non-religious life. How sad what “labeling” and prejudice can do! There are people in our lives who have been condemned for their past and we do not give them a chance or credibility. But God is not like that. Curiously, Jesus chooses her to deliver his message of resurrection, of life. That woman who was considered impure is now a missionary who proclaims that Christ has risen.  Because for God there is always an opportunity for a person to change.

2. He appeared. Jesus reminds you that He is alive and that He’s always with you. He walks next to you and asks you to recognize Him. You can walk along the path of life with him, and He will always walk with you. Christian life involves being pilgrims, who walk with the Risen Christ.

3. Go!   Jesus gives you the strength to go out and announce the good news to others. Go out so that others may know the love of God. We are witnesses who have seen and heard, so we must be  missionaries that proclaim his love.  God wants to fill you with him so that you can go out and proclaim Him.

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
