John 15, 26 – 16, 4a

The Advocate

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 26 – 16, 4a

Jesus said to his disciples:
“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
he will testify to me.
And you also testify,
because you have been with me from the beginning.

“I have told you this so that you may not fall away.
They will expel you from the synagogues;
in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you
will think he is offering worship to God.
They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me.
I have told you this so that when their hour comes
you may remember that I told you.”

The Advocate

1. The Spirit. It’s a good day to strengthen your relationship with the Holy Spirit, for it is the Spirit of Truth who will allow you to grow in the spirituality that you need. Perhaps you should continue to improve your relationship with the Holy Ghost so that you can have a close encounter with God. There is nothing better than the Holy Spirit to help you to deepen your faith, because having a strong spiritual life and devotion is the key to Christian life.

2. Setbacks. Those who lead a life in God and desire to take him to others will certainly go through difficult moments. It’s as if you were in the public eye, and as if they were waiting for you to fail in order to finish you off. But don’t be discouraged, Jesus told his disciples that setbacks and persecution would be part of their daily life, and of ours as well. There are people who rejoice when things are not going well for you. But bear in mind that God has chosen you just as you are and where you are.

3. Persevere. This  involves the ability to persist in the face of obstacles or setbacks, knowing that God will never leave you, He never abandons you. Jesus invites you to announce and give testimony of him. But the key to endure difficulties without giving up is to build yourself spiritually in God, so that your vibrant inner self may help you face the setbacks of life. Take courage, don’t be afraid! The Spirit gives life.

Remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
