Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 21, 20-25
Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved,
the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper
and had said, “Master, who is the one who will betray you?”
When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”
Jesus said to him, “What if I want him to remain until I come?
What concern is it of yours?
You follow me.”
So the word spread among the brothers that that disciple would not die.
But Jesus had not told him that he would not die,
just “What if I want him to remain until I come?
What concern is it of yours?”
It is this disciple who testifies to these things
and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true.
There are also many other things that Jesus did,
but if these were to be described individually,
I do not think the whole world would contain the books
that would be written.
You follow me
1. What about him? There are times when we love to focus on other people’s lives and we even like to give our opinion about their lives. Jesus asks us to focus on our own life and concentrate on what He proposes for our life. Don’t go around comparing yourself with others. That doesn’t help you. You have your own life and a path to follow, don’t let pride and arrogance make you think more about other people’s lives than about your own. There are two temptations that are difficult to overcome: constantly comparing oneself with other people and being over-attentive to help others while neglecting one’s own life. Both temptations are bad.
2. Rumors. Gossip is an ever-present reality, and it is important to know how to live with it. Don’t let those who talk about you take away your inner peace, for only God knows how much you struggle every day. Ask Jesus today to give you peace and to make you fall in love with life. Gossip is gossip and ends in gossip, and that’s it.
3. Writing. I always say that it is important to write down everything you live in your life, and even more important to write down the experiences you have with God and your supernatural life, because it helps you to live and encourages you to remember that everything is not a fantasy in your head, but that it implies a coherent whole. Today, take some time to think and, if you can, write down five beautiful things you have experienced with God.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
