Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 28, 16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they all saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
God is family
I use this term because in a family the father, mother and children are totally different, but they are one. The same happens with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I consider the Father as Love, the Son as the Beloved and the Holy Spirit as the Lover. Each of them is different but they are one single being we call love. That’s God.
1. Love. God is Love. God the Father is love which He expresses by giving Himself to the world. His love has no limits and is not finite, it can’t be measured or classified. God’s love goes further than your thoughts, than your weakness, than everything. The greatness of God the Father is that He is Love and that He gave His only Son for our salvation.
2. Beloved. This leads us to the figure of the Son, God made man. God’s greatest caress is the Cross, where Jesus Christ tells us that actions speak louder than words. When we feel loved, we must show it in concrete actions towards others. Knowing that we are loved is the great miracle that will lead us to resurrect always.
3. Lover. God’s love is transmitted through the Holy Spirit who expresses the true sense of having Love in us. The essence of the Holy Spirit is Love. So, the Spirit generates love and in doing so, He infuses love in each of us.
On this Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity may you love and feel loved by Love and take God’s love to others. God never leaves you; He is always by your side.
