Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 11, 27-33

Jesus and his disciples returned once more to Jerusalem.
As he was walking in the temple area,
the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders
approached him and said to him,
“By what authority are you doing these things?
Or who gave you this authority to do them?”
Jesus said to them, “I shall ask you one question.
Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me.”
They discussed this among themselves and said,
“If we say, ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say,
‘Then why did you not believe him?’
But shall we say, ‘Of human origin’?”–
they feared the crowd,
for they all thought John really was a prophet.
So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.”
Then Jesus said to them,
“Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Authority

  1. Returned to Jerusalem. You should always return to the sacred. Don’t neglect your prayer time and whatever brings you peace. You will always face situations of conflict and clashes, because in all social or work relationships there are bound to be conflicts or disagreements. That’s why you should never leave aside prayer and find your sacred space and time. Of course it’s hard, but you must come back to prayer once and again. I must confess that early mornings strengthen me a lot, because it’s my time of prayer and silence. It gives me the energy to face the day, especially on those days when I know I will have to deal with conflictive people. Find your peace in those moments of prayer every day.
  2. They approached him. There will always be people who will question you and even challenge the way you act. Don’t be self-conscious when those close to you seek to destroy you, question you or harass you. Remember who you are and the purpose of your life. Continue to build life in those around you even if a few idle people seek to torment you. Keep going with prudence and courage.
  3. Authority. Authority is earned not by the position you hold or the social function you exercise, but by your lifestyle and your love for God. You can have many degrees, but if you do not really live your life with coherence and conviction, then your life is senseless, not fully lived. No one should consider themselves better than anyone else, but sometimes arrogance of holding a certain position might lead you to believe so. You have been called to contribute to other people’s lives, to the best of your ability. May the authority in you be noted in your way of being and your testimony.

Remember something good is on the way.

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
