Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5, 17-19

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”

A fulfilling life

1. The law. Remember that the commandments have been clearly defined for our lives. Even the order in which they were given marks a particularity in our lives; we learn to love our neighbor and then we learn to avoid clinging to things that are not ours. May your life be ruled by law, based on true love, not to be a judge or a religious policeman, but to be free and to become a person who is in love with life.

2. Complying. Who has never had a fall? We all make mistakes, and we fall. We run wild and mess up, laws are broken, but God is with us so that we can get up and start again. Sometimes following God’s law is difficult and we make mistakes thousands of times. We’re imperfect people, but the important thing is to return to Him. Go back to what you know is true, even if it means paying the price for those mistakes with tears. Don’t just stare at what you’ve lost, focus on where you’re going.

3. Greatness. It’s important to be aware that we are weak and that we must struggle daily to seek happiness. Don’t think too highly of yourself, regarding yourself as perfect or having no sin, because clearly you’re not flawless. You’re a sinner that can only survive thanks to God. Keep on working to find happiness in your life, and don’t ever give up. Don’t lie to yourself just to fill your time; live a fulfilling life. God is inviting you to do something new: to be fulfilled!

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
