Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 17, 11-19
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem,
he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten persons with leprosy met him.
They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying,
“Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!”
And when he saw them, he said,
“Go show yourselves to the priests.”
As they were going they were cleansed.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed,
returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.
He was a Samaritan.
Jesus said in reply,
“Ten were cleansed, were they not?
Where are the other nine?
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?”
Then he said to him, “Stand up and go;
your faith has saved you.”

1. Jesus traveled. I want to keep this image of a walking Jesus. Today, we must be that Jesus who goes out, who seeks, and who travels. We should not wait around for the needy to come to us. We must go out and look for the people in need, to be able to help them. Jesus’s attitude makes me wonder whether I’m just waiting around for someone to tell me what to do or whether I’m actively searching for those who need help. I question myself as to whether I’m really aware of the needs of others or if I’m still concentrating on myself and my own needs. We must go out; look around and realize that there is a reality which is different from our own. Not everyone and everything revolves around you. You are not the center of the world.
2. Purified. Many times, our miseries lead us to illness and to feeling impure. Today, your illness may be caused by something you don’t accept or something you can’t forgive. Ask yourself what is making you sick and what is keeping you from enjoying your life. Ask yourself why you constantly feel like you’re dragging a heavy weight behind you wherever you go. Present yourself before the Lord, so He can heal you.
3) Gratitude. Return to God and thank him. He heals us and frees us. Return to him because there is so much you should thank him for. You’ve received something wonderful in this life and you enjoy beauty and share it with others. What would you like to thank him for today?
Always remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you, be with you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
