Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 10, 21-24
Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,
“I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows who the Son is except the Father,
and who the Father is except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
The childlike
1. Rejoiced. The Holy Spirit fills us with joy. Maybe you’re going through a hard or sad time. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you joy and peace. During this time of Advent, may you be able to look at the beautiful things you’re achieving in your life. Stop dwelling on the negative things that happened this year or in your life. Think about the beautiful things you’re achieving or have achieved. Look back on those struggles that you faced and those that you overcame. I know there’s a long way ahead in your life but try to look at your achievements so far. Think of 5 beautiful things you’ve experienced this year and ask the Holy Spirit to help you look at them and thank God for them.
2. The little ones, the childlike. We must be aware that we need God and that we must trust Him completely. Saint Thérèse of Lisieux used to say, “I want to spend my heaven in doing good on earth”. That’s the essence of your life, to do good. Life is simple, but we tend to complicate it, we seek complications and conflict. Something I’m learning is that the more I know God, the simpler and humbler I must be. The greatness of our life comes from recognizing that we are limited and in need of God. Today God embraces you as his little son or daughter. Go back to him!
3. Blessed. Today strive for more and take a step further in your life. Conquer your fears and battle against your shortcomings. Learn that happiness is not merely an emotion, it’s an attitude. Put your heart into your life! Get rid of what doesn’t help you move forward and fight for what is good for you. Be true to your values and be cautious.
Always remember that something good is on the way!
