Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 7, 21, 24-27

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.
And everyone who listens to these words of mine
but does not act on them
will be like a fool who built his house on sand.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

Prudence is your rock

1. Lord, Lord. Actions speak louder than words; actions are what remain steadfast. People are defined by what they do and not by what they say they do. That’s why, if today you’re considering whether to continue being friends with that person that subdues you, or whether to continue a relationship that intoxicates your life, I think you must consider these people’s concrete actions, rather than listening to beautiful but unfulfilled promises. I’m sorry if I sound rather harsh, but in my country we see that people who are loquacious might conquer more than a person of a thousand good deeds. We must be careful with people who are all talk and no action.

2. Wisdom. People who think wisely always think about the foundation of what they do, that is to say, they go back to the origin of everything. It’s always good to go back to the “why” and “what for” of things. It’s always good to ask yourself why you bought such a thing and what for, or why you did something. If it has an explanation, then you’re adding to the foundation of your life, but if it has no explanation, then it’s not helping to build your life, and it’s simply satisfying your whims.

3. Foolish. This refers to people who do everything in an unstable way, they do things without having a strong or proper basis, and therefore it’s likely that what they do will eventually fail. It’s probable that they are unstable, too. Today they say white, tomorrow black. They go from love to hate in an instant; today they are affectionate and tomorrow they are distant.  Be careful with this type of person, because their anxiety and instability can absorb you and even control you. Always ask God that you many be wise and prudent and ask your friends to point out to you the real foundations of your life. Accept your reality and define yourself by what you are and actually do, and not by what you say you do or will do.

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
