Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 9-11

Jesus said to his disciples:
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love.

“I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and
your joy might be complete.”

The Father’s love

1. As the Father loves me. It’s interesting to see that Jesus begins speaking about love from the very source of love: God, the Father. It’s obvious that you can’t give what you don’t have and that’s why it’s important that you find in yourself that sense of knowing that you are loved, wanted and even contemplated by God himself. If you really want to give something to others, you have to look at yourself, accept yourself, discover the potential that God put in you and also accept your weaknesses and your mistakes. Because to feel loved by God is to feel accepted just as you are. We’re always waiting for someone to solve our problems; we’re always waiting for a little message from the one we love. It’s as if we were beggars of life, always waiting for someone to give us something. Don’t waste your life waiting for others to solve things for you, much less for others to make you feel loved so that you can begin to love yourself. God loves you just the way you are, and through God’s love, you can love others.

2. Remain. You must seek stability in your day and in your life, because it’s preferable to take short, slow but stable steps, rather than always going around at an accelerated pace and ending up unstable.  To remain also implies permanence; it means to be constant in what you do and to learn to be steadfast in the projects that you have in mind for your life.

3. Joy. Happiness is a way of looking and the capacity to see things from God’s point of view. Remain in God and in what is essential in you, everything else comes and goes.  Learning to live and enjoy life is a constant challenge. It’s fundamental to live life enjoying what you do, rather than regretting things that have or haven’t happened. You must learn to enjoy what you’re living and facing instead of questioning things all the time. Today ask Jesus to take care of your heart and that He may fill you with his peace.

Always remember something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
