Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16, 16-20

Jesus said to his disciples:
“A little while and you will no longer see me,
and again a little while later and you will see me.”
So some of his disciples said to one another,
“What does this mean that he is saying to us,
‘A little while and you will not see me,
and again a little while and you will see me,’
and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”
So they said, “What is this ‘little while’ of which he speaks?
We do not know what he means.”
Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them,
“Are you discussing with one another what I said,
‘A little while and you will not see me,
and again a little while and you will see me’?
Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.”

Your grief will become joy

1. You will see me. Spiritual life is a process, and it also brings instability. Don’t be alarmed if you’ve consistently been a devout and religious person and today you find it challenging to attend mass or engage in meditation. Because spiritual life is also a process of searching and it’s like everything in life. There are times when you are feeling great and other times when it seems like nothing is happening. The key is to remember your goal and to persevere. When you are experiencing spiritual drought, remember the moments of joy, remember that you’ve endured hard times and have come through! When you feel that all is nothing, go back to your identity and your life story. Don’t dwell on the difficult time that you’re going through. Look at the whole picture of your life and everything you’ve experienced, look at what you’ve gained and how you’ve grown. Seeing leads to remembering and remembering helps you to build your life; building needs planning and planning enables self-fulfillment.

2. Wanted to ask.  In life, it’s essential to engage in self-reflection, as this process involves questioning and confronting oneself. It’s important to understand that living a fulfilling life means continuously answering the questions we pose to ourselves. Our lives serve as responses to numerous self-inquiries and challenges that we set forth.

3. Joy. Life involves both pain and joy. You arrive and depart with tears, so keep seeking what gives you peace. Walk in the direction of what is good for you; what fulfils you brings happiness to you and those around you. Find peace and pursue it.

Remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
