Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16, 29-33
The disciples said to Jesus,
“Now you are talking plainly, and not in any figure of speech.
Now we realize that you know everything
and that you do not need to have anyone question you.
Because of this we believe that you came from God.”
Jesus answered them, “Do you believe now?
Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived
when each of you will be scattered to his own home
and you will leave me alone.
But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me.
In the world you will have trouble,
but take courage, I have conquered the world.”
Take courage, I have conquered the world
1. You speak plainly. People will always ask for more and you will never be able to convince everyone, not even Jesus was able to convince all his disciples. Therefore, don’t let criticism and misunderstandings take away your peace, but rather worry about fulfilling the mission that God has given you. Seek clarity in your life for yourself and others.
2. Do you believe now? Giving yourself to others is always demanding, but the issue arises when you prioritize their needs all the time. I like to see this Jesus who goes forward, regardless of whether people believe in him or not, his objective is to save souls. Similarly, don’t base your actions on whether people believe in you or praise you; opinions change, people turn around like an omelet. Today they praise you and tomorrow they criticize you. Learn not to reduce your life to being loved. Focus on your convictions and objectives, not on others’ approval or criticism.
3. Have peace in me. It is the pivotal point of your whole life; peace is the key element to make decisions and to live. Make decisions that bring peace to your heart, even if it leads to conflict. Surround yourself with people who give you peace and not with those who create constant strife. Jesus gives peace and that peace leads to eternal life.
Never forget that something good is on the way!
May God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
