Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 21, 20-25
Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved,
the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper
and had said, “Master, who is the one who will betray you?”
When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”
Jesus said to him, “What if I want him to remain until I come?
What concern is it of yours?
You follow me.”
So the word spread among the brothers that that disciple would not die.
But Jesus had not told him that he would not die,
just “What if I want him to remain until I come?
What concern is it of yours?”
It is this disciple who testifies to these things
and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true.
There are also many other things that Jesus did,
but if these were to be described individually,
I do not think the whole world would contain the books

1. Jealousy. Jealousy is part of life, and we can see it in Peter. The problem is when one’s life revolves around jealousy, always seeking to be the center of attention. Jealousy can lead you to question God himself. It can even lead you to envy, since you start looking at the life of others instead of focusing on your own. But there’s something even more serious: you start measuring yourself against the life of others, missing out on who you are. Don’t let jealousy lead you to envy, which can then turn into cynicism and make you indifferent.
2. Rumors. Gossip is an ever-present reality, and it’s part of society. The issue is that rumors might destabilize you, causing insecurity and leading you to live based on expectations rather than facts. Your life is defined by facts and not by expectations. It’s important to keep your feet on the ground and not to listen to people who only seek to ventilate their opinions.
3. Testimony. Live your life as a witness of God, facing challenges with faith rather than fear of others’ opinions. Your testimony is shaped by your experiences and struggles, not by the comments of others.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
