Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 6, 7-15
Jesus said to his disciples:
“In praying, do not babble like the pagans,
who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them.
Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“This is how you are to pray:
‘Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.’
“If you forgive others their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”
Pray, for your Father sees everything
- Prayer. And how Jesus enters into prayer! Learn from Him. Prayer means talking to God from your heart. Even though He knows everything about you, it’s important to speak to Him in your own way, sharing what comes from within.
- Babbling. Don’t fall into the habit of talking too much or becoming overly structured. In the end, you turn into a robot or a walking prayer book. Your prayer should come from the heart, showing yourself as you are, with your nothingness, and aware of your presence before the Almighty – even through a song. Words may fade, but the gaze remains, like lovers who understand everything with a single glance.
- Father. Jesus invites you to that intimacy with God—a transcendent and close connection that never loses its personal touch with you. You can encounter God by looking within your heart and asking for what you need. When we pray the Our Father, we ask God that we might not fall into temptation. May you feel God’s presence in your heart and may it fill and satisfy your life today.
Something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
