Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 7, 15-20

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but underneath are ravenous wolves.
By their fruits you will know them.
Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Just so, every good tree bears good fruit,
and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit,
nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down
and thrown into the fire.
So by their fruits you will know them.”

By their fruits

1. Wolves in sheep’s clothing. Our lives must be defined by who we truly are; you and I must work on that. You shouldn’t be hypocritical in life or seek to take advantage of situations for personal gain. You can’t present yourself falsely to harm others. This happens to us in society, and even in the Church. Some individuals exploit their status as being part of a parish or church movement to manipulate others. Therefore, be clear and straightforward. Hard work and honesty are essential. Respect the trust and innocence of others; don’t take advantage of them.

2. A good tree. You have a path to give life, and your whole life is aimed at bearing fruit, which you will achieve in due time. Don’t despair, be patient; bearing fruit requires a process. Are you clear about what you want to give of yourself? Once you clarify it, you will be able to offer much and will know how to work toward achieving it.

3. By your fruits. Actions follow being, and therefore your life will be understood according to your attitudes and not your intentions. This will be the struggle you face throughout your life, as attitudes do not always align with intentions, leading to immaturity.

Always remember that something good is on the way.

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
