Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 13, 31-35
Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds.
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed
that a person took and sowed in a field.
It is the smallest of all the seeds,
yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants.
It becomes a large bush,
and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.”
He spoke to them another parable.
“The Kingdom of heaven is like yeast
that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour
until the whole batch was leavened.”
All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables.
He spoke to them only in parables,
to fulfill what had been said through the prophet:
I will open my mouth in parables,
I will announce what has lain hidden from the foundation of the world.
The Kingdom of Heaven
1. Small things. God shows us that great things come from small ones. Embracing simplicity can help resolve life’s complexities. When you seek to lead a simpler life, things become clearer. Maybe your thoughts have confused you, and your life is in turmoil. Go back to the small, simple things of life. Go back to being that person who smiled and danced with childlike joy. Return to basic joys and straightforward living to find clarity. Could it be that you have complicated your life too much lately?
2. The Kingdom of Heaven. The Kingdom of God is built on solid, concrete, and simple principles; it’s not necessary to be scholars in theology to announce the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God comes into our lives through our simple acts and gestures: through kind words, serving others pleasantly at the table, treating everyone kindly, or simply doing everyday jobs with enthusiasm. The Kingdom should be presented in the simplest possible way.
3. Announce. Jesus is clever, and He makes you think. Spreading the Gospel today calls for creativity – maybe through an audio commentary, an image on social media, or a face-to-face chat over a cup of coffee. Anyway, think of a clever proposal to share Jesus’s message effectively. Let’s work together so that others may come to Jesus. Are you up for it?
Never forget that something good is on the way!
God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
