Matthew 9,9-13

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 9,9-13

As Jesus passed by,
he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, “”Follow me.””
And he got up and followed him.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners came
and sat with Jesus and his disciples.
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples,
“”Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors aned sinners?””
He heard this and said,
“”Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words,
I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.””

In the midst of wolves

1. Smart. In this life, be careful what you share, what you say and to whom you say it. As Napoleon would say “The wise are those who seek wisdom; fools think they have already found it”. That’s why, be cautious because you can give information to the person who could destroy you and remember that betrayal comes from those close to you rather than from those who are distant.

2. Do not worry. Those whose heart is open to God shouldn’t fear, because God has the final say. Remember that envy is a declaration of inferiority. Therefore, as long as you’re clear about who you are and how far you can go, you can live in peace. At the end of the day, you can rest without worries.

3. The Spirit. Today ask the Holy Spirit for the strength to keep moving forward and for the grace to face the struggles of your life.  Ask for the gift of wisdom to know how to discern and to be able to decide, because it’s wonderful to have the power to be able to decide for one’s life.

Always remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
