The Pan-American Synodal Ecosystem “Juntos” (Together/Insieme) invites the entire Church to be formed and to live synodality in action.
The Synod on Synodality has entered its third phase —implementation— calling the Church to translate discernment into concrete actions that transform relationships, structures, and pastoral priorities in light of the Final Document of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
In response, the Pan-American Synodal Ecosystem “Juntos” (Together/Insieme) is launching a free, intercontinental Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to explore the key themes of the document.
Starting on October 20, 2025, the course will be offered in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, providing thousands of participants worldwide with the opportunity to understand, pray, and act on the Synod’s invitation to walk together, discern together, and decide together.
A Church that learns by walking
This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council (CELAM)—through its theological center, CEBITEPAL—the Latin American Confederation of Religious (CLAR), the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University (JST–SCU), the Latin American Observatory of Synodality, and the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations (UMOFC).
The goal is to offer accessible and free formation for bishops, priests, religious men and women, pastoral agents, lay movements, parishes, and ecclesial communities who seek to live out the call to a more participatory, co-responsible, and missionary Church.
More than 30 renowned theologians, pastoral experts, and canon lawyers will take part in explaining the Final Document of the Synod on Synodality.
According to the organizers, “this MOOC aims to translate synodal discernment into concrete actions that transform relationships, structures, and pastoral priorities.”
Course topics include:
- The Final Document of the Synod on Synodality and its key themes
- Pastoral and canonical implications of a Church that walks together
- Testimonies and synodal experiences from local communities
- Practical tools for implementing synodal processes in parishes, dioceses, and congregations
The entirely online course is free of charge, and participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of participation.
