Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 18, 1-8

Jesus told his disciples a parable
about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary.
He said, “There was a judge in a certain town
who neither feared God nor respected any human being.
And a widow in that town used to come to him and say,
‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’
For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought,
‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being,
because this widow keeps bothering me
I shall deliver a just decision for her
lest she finally come and strike me.'”
The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says.
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones
who call out to him day and night?
Will he be slow to answer them?
I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily.
But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Prayer and Persistence

  1. Don’t get discouraged. Prayer is essential. Praying means talking to God using your own words. It’s that friendly relationship you have with God, and it should be like one person talking to another. That’s why praying is the core of your life because it makes you see life in a different way, leading you to see that there’s “something” of God in everything.
  2. The judge. It’s important to recognize that in life we’ll also meet people who don’t care about anything, who even live life without paying attention to others around them. But your prayer and your way of being can even help to change that person… Today, don’t focus on what prevents you from being happy; instead, ask God to help you become aware of what prevents you from seeing how to be happy.
  3. Faith. It’s a gift from God, so don’t be afraid and ask him to give you faith to keep going. There are many things you can do in life, and you have a lot to offer, but faith is that shell that helps ensure the blows of life itself don’t knock you down or destroy you. Instead, it helps you absorb that blow so you can bounce back like a spring. Ask God for faith to believe and to understand. You will understand that life is more beautiful when you start to believe.

Remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
