Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 18, 1-5, 10
The disciples approached Jesus and said,
“Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?”
He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said,
“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children,
you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.
Whoever humbles himself like this child
is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.
And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones,
for I say to you that their angels in heaven
always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”
Angels protect us
1. Be humble. Never forget this: someone who knows Jesus doesn’t seek greatness or positions of power. They don’t look for the spotlight or try to be a star. A person who knows Jesus lives with the humility that only God can give. Being humble means understanding that God is so great that He encompasses everything and fills us with His love.
2. Don’t look down on others. When you truly know Jesus, your heart opens wide. Christians don’t look down on others; instead, we seek to do good for everyone, no matter who they are. We remember that we are all children of God, and that’s the greatest truth of all. That’s why every person is unique and irreplaceable—because every person has worth.
3. Angels. Today we celebrate our Guardian Angels, those who protect us every moment, every day. Build a close relationship with your guardian angel and know that God loves you so much that He wants to care for you at every moment. He sends His own to watch over you! God wants everyone to be saved and to be with Him. Do you want to be with Jesus? Because God gives you every chance to go to heaven. Never forget that.
I invite you to end this meditation by praying together: “Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.”
