Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11,29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.”
Conversion is a daily job
1) Evil generation: we’re complicated… We’re always getting into situations or comments, we’re cunning and deceitful, wanting even to fool God. We try to take advantage of others; our partners – our husband or wife – or our friends, we even use God, expecting Him to do what we want. Evil and weakness are not the same, the weak person doesn’t calculate or premeditated and even tries to change, while an evil person meditates on what he will do.
2) Signs: There are always signs in our lives, there are signs that warn us about situations, and guide our decision-making. Before you decide something, look at the signs that appear on your way. Take your time to consider carefully, analyze the signs that you see to decide. Don’t make decisions without thinking, because you can make mistakes and don’t worry about what other people might think. Do not let yourself be pressured by anyone or by any situation. Leave aside your obsessions to decide.
3) Conversion: Conversion refers to change, trying to change daily. Sin brings us down and brings out the ugliest part in us. Yes, we are all sinners, you and me. Let’s not pretend we’ve never sin because we do we’ve all sinned. Let’s be responsible for our faults, which will take us to conversion. First we have to ask for forgiveness. Do you want to start? If you do, look in the mirror, as you really are, look into your eyes and think about everything you’ve lived and ask yourself for forgiveness.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
