Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10,7-15
Jesus said to his Apostles: “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”
Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts;
no sack for the journey, or a second tunic, or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep.
Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it, and stay there until you leave.
As you enter a house, wish it peace.
If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you.”
Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words–go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet.
Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.”
1 Announce. This is what you are invited to do: to go out and proclaim the kingdom of God. Your mission is to proclaim Jesus. Don’t aim to be the head of all the pastoral programs. Not everyone is sent to be a minister of the Eucharist or part of the priest’s council… the call is to proclaim the kingdom of God and that should be your mission in life. Proclaim the kingdom everywhere !
2 Heal. Your life must be a comfort to others. Don’t give up taking Jesus to others and healing your brethren with Jesus. Don’t cause conflict for others; offer them consolation and solace. Living a Christian life includes healing others. Keep fighting for that, because you should aim to be a blessing for others and with others.
3 Expel. How many people are there who have internal conflicts? How many have souls infected with things that distance them from God ? Too many ! You have to expel from yourself everything that is not God’s will, and help others to do the same. Through your close relationships, your sacrifice, and your prayer … your prayers free other people’s souls.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Don’t forget: Heaven is our goal!
