Jesus said to his disciples: “Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants.”
- Life. Many times, we don’t know what to do, what direction to take – I understand that. Some time ago, somebody asked me how depression could be overcome, and I think the key to living and facing reality is finding where you want to go, and knowing what you want. It is knowing what God’s will is for each one of us and working towards fulfilling it. With God’s presence and the certainty of what we are directed towards, nothing can stop us. Life is short and it is not only a matter of living it, it also entails fulfilling what God asks of you. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and He, Himself, is leading you to your goal. Consider what your life goal is.
- How? How do we find our path ? Well, this is often the cause of a crisis; where you sometimes fall: discovering what leads you to live life fully; to be able to reach for your objective. The key is to make sure that whatever it is that takes you towards that goal, gives you freedom and peace. Of course, you’ll have troubled, tough times. Everyone does. But you face those difficult times and fight on. Finding your goal in life does not happen from one day to another, but rather, it’s a process. Look for signs from God.
- Be prepared. Preparation is vital because no one knows how long they will live. Preparing also requires letting go: praying as though everything depends on God; acting as though everything depends on you. Don’t let the madness and vices of this life lead you to look at many future possibilities, forgetting the present. Live the present. Create that future that gives you peace and freedom.
