Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 11,16-19
Jesus said to the crowds: “To what shall I compare this generation? It is like children who sit in marketplaces and call to one another,
‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance, we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.’
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, ‘He is possessed by a demon.’
The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is vindicated by her works.”
Change your life
1) Compare: Those people were unhappy with everything. And, at this time of the year, you could have become a super complainer and all you do is complain about everything: this is not enough, your children are like that, your wife or husband is like this, your parents…, etc. It is like nothing sits right with you; however, it is possible that the problem is not them, but you. Because you are the one who must examine yourself. On the other hand, your life should not be about pleasing others because, you see, that not even God was able to accomplish this.
2) Conversion: It is time to change. You cannot be the same person you have always been and you cannot get used to thinking that your life is what it is and that everyone else should see it that way and nothing else. Today you must understand that we Christians always aim for a little more. Do not stop improving yourself; there is always something to change.
3) Oh! God surely has been putting people and things in your life to make you realize that He is right next to you, reminding you that in this life we are just passing by and that time is short, but that there is always time to change and to improve. Do not be discouraged, because change always depends on you, and of course, you need to accept the cost of that change. Do not worry… it is hard for all of us. #caminoabelen. #ontheroadtobethlehem
