Mt. 4 12-17

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 4,12-17, 23-25

Upon learning that John had been arrested, Jesus withdrew to Galilee, left Nazareth, and settled in Capernaum, by the lake, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali. Thus was fulfilled what was announced by the prophet Isaiah: "The territory of Zebulun and the territory of Naphtali, on the way to the sea, on the other side of the Jordan, Galilee of the heathen. shadows of death the light dawned on them ". From then on Jesus began to proclaim: "Repent, the reign of God is near!" Jesus traveled all over Galilee teaching in the synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom and healing all kinds of diseases and illnesses among the people. His fame spread throughout Syria, so that all those who suffered from various diseases or suffered ailments were brought to him: demonized, lunatic, paralyzed and he healed them. He was followed by a great multitude from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and Transjordan.

Go out and search and do not wait to qualify

1) Light: we are called to put light in this world. In a world of darkness, violence, where everything is cloudy, nobody supports anyone, we begin to insult each other over silly things, we start fighting, fighting. Look at some of the shows on television, many are based on rumors, there are insults and turbulence where things are often not clear. Your presence needs to provide light, this requires you to have a praying heart and to be full of peace. Are you spreading light? Or are you in the middle of darkness?

2) Convert: we are at the beginning of the year, and there are things to work on. You have surely noticed that you do not want to repeat the same mistake as last year, and find the way to change some things. Some things about you, Stop and look at yourself a bit, do you have to continue to be the same? Are you really OK the way you are or do you need to change some things, but be sincere. Do you get anywhere with all this? Where do you end up? What conclusions do you reach? Are you going to continue to lie in your bed crying over the same thing, are you going to continue to fight with him or her, are you going to continue with that anguish?
Change, change! Don’t give up! If you have fallen, get up. Change! Surely you can with God’s help. Keep going! Don’t let yourself get stuck on the same thing.

3) Go out to announce: we have to stop fishing in the fish tank or else we will continue being the same as always. We cannot continue to be the same in church, in the movement, in the group. How is it that new groups open up in the parish or movement but the faces are old? The ones that I call “rotating Christians” they move around and rotate from group to group. A new group opens up and the same people end up going. Come on, we have to reach those who don’t know Jesus, those who do not know what the church is, nor do they know about baptism, communion, confirmation. You have to reach those who have left the church because someone treated them poorly. These are the people we need to reach. Make them get to know Jesus first, not your group or movement, that comes later, but the key is to first introduce Jesus, so that they can fall in love with Him.
Take Him outside, don´t lock Jesus up! He has to reach everyone.
God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal.
