Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 10,22-30
The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter.
And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon.
So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify to me.
But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep.
My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.”
Hear His voice
1) Openly: Jesus speaks clearly and without any concealment. You also have to learn to say things clearly. Do not leave things up to interpretation. Be clear in your actions and behaviors. Do not let anyone make footnotes of what you do or say. Be clear, do not say one thing and do another. We cannot be that kind of Christians.
2) You are of God: listening to Jesus implies following him. Do not stop listening to God or looking for Him. You are his and you are on his team. Put on his jersey and play for him. Following Jesus dazzles you, makes you fall in love, and changes your vision of things. For this reason, following Him is an adventure.
3) Eternal life: this is what leads you and disposes you to be eternal, to live, to relate, and enjoy this life with Him. Do not be afraid of what God invites you to do as it is something great. Let’s go! We can do a lot in this world and you can do a lot in the lives of those who surround you. Do not be afraid because God is very close to you and invites you to fall in love so that others can fall in love.
