Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16, 23b-28
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.
Until now you have not asked anything in my name;
ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
“I have told you this in figures of speech.
The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures
but I will tell you clearly about the Father.
On that day you will ask in my name,
and I do not tell you that I will ask the Father for you.
For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me
and have come to believe that I came from God.
I came from the Father and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”
God loves you
1) Ask. Prayer is a powerful thing in your life. It only requires a moment of inner silence. You must seek peace and quiet during your day. Look for a moment of silence; that moment when the world stops spinning, and you can think only about God and yourself. God, your Father wants to have a moment with you, but you must give Him that moment. Look for Him, but also look for yourself, because you may have forgotten about your inner self. While solving your problems or those of others, you’ve forgotten about yourself. Remember you have plans and objectives; great things to work towards. Today, God wants to remind you that He loves you and pays close attention to you.
2) Clearly. Religion is not a set of rules or statutes. Religion is an authentic encounter with Christ. It is this coming together with Jesus that fascinates and moves you; it enhances and brings dignity to your life. Finding Jesus fills you with peace. Try to recall when you met Him for the first time and go back to Him. Pray for that.
3) I’m going back to the Father. We are in the world, and we are called to love the world passionately because it is here that we must bring God to others, in everyday ways, in everyday life. Jesus needs you. Express the presence of God daily, in your normal day-to-day activities.
Always remember something good is on the way! God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
