Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 28, 16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
Looking up to heaven
1) They went to Galilee. Being a Christian means building community. Where Jesus goes, there is community and communion. Today, we Catholics must be more united than ever, seeking the good of all and working towards the good for all, Christians and non-Christians. Because Jesus is with us and He unites us, He does not isolate us.
2) Go. We have to shorten distances. You and I have much to give but above all we are his disciples, we are on his team, and we move forward along Jesus’s path, because we want to take His peace to everyone. We cannot be customs officers of faith; we cannot go around like a highway patrol asking for documents to see if someone is still on the Christian path or not. Let’s make it easier and stop behaving as bureaucratic Christians who only deal with papers and rules.
3) He is with us always. Jesus promised that where two or three are gathered together in His name, He will be with us. Therefore, together we can do a lot and grow in many aspects. God never leaves you; He is by your side and if you fall, He will lift you up because He knows what this path implies.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
