John 14, 1-6

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 14, 1-6

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Don’t be troubled

1. Do not be troubled. Jesus also says that to you today: believe and trust. Because God doesn’t leave you alone. There are always difficult situations in life, there are challenges and struggles that demand peace and inner confidence from you. Worry makes you panic and distrust everything and everyone. Believe in Jesus because that’s how you can be a firm rock and a light for many.

2. A place. God has had you in mind from all eternity and you are part of him. He has promised you an inheritance and reminds you that you are called to be eternal. Seek this treasure that God proposes to you, and you will feel a sense of belonging. You are God’s property and for love, God is yours.

3. Life: Your heart seeks to live and to help others live fully. Your life should be a joyful and reflective celebration of the small and big things that make it valuable. Always remember how beautiful it is to live, because life is a gift, and everyone has a great contribution to give to this world. You are God’s contribution to this world!

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and guard you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
