Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 15,3-7
Jesus addressed this parable to the Pharisees and scribes:
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them
would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.”
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You
1. He goes out. Jesus seeks us out with a loving heart. When you love, you go out and look for those you hold dear, not out of selfishness but because you want to do good unto them. We should ask Jesus for a heart like his, to be able to go out and reconnect with long-lost relatives, or distant friends, or even people with whom we’ve shared part of our life in the past but that we’ve lost contact with. Go out and look for those you’ve been close to.
2) Joy. On this day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, let’s ask Him for joy. Learn to rejoice with the happiness of others, seek to create a positive atmosphere among those around you. Contribute to create a warm environment with those you live or work with through kind actions. Be good-hearted. People are in great need of happiness and joy!
3) Conversion. What joy it is to see people who find God and change, change for the better! We should be filled with joy for those who manage to come together with God rather than judge what they’re doing and whether they’re in a church group or not. Surrender to Jesus and I assure you that you will walk with joy along his path.
During the day, let’s pray together:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
Sweet heart of Mary, be my salvation
Jesus, Meek and Humble of Heart, make my heart like unto Thine.
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Always remember that something good is on the way.
