Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 13, 1-9

On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea.
Such large crowds gathered around him
that he got into a boat and sat down,
and the whole crowd stood along the shore.
And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying:
“A sower went out to sow.
And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path,
and birds came and ate it up.

Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil.
It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep,
and when the sun rose it was scorched,
and it withered for lack of roots.
Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it.
But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit,
a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.
Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

He went out to sow

1. By the wayside. Constantly living on the edge, at an accelerated pace and leaving everything to the last minute creates ongoing stress and tension, always being on the defensive. Without a plan, you risk losing control of your life to others and they may end up taking it away from you. Avoid rushing through life without thought or direction; instead, set clear, personal goals. Stay disciplined and cautious, as others may exploit your moments of vulnerability.

2. On rocky ground. I understand that life is hard and difficult for everyone, but the problem arises when you become hard and don’t let anyone into your life. You’ve undergone disappointments and pains that have make you a hard, difficult person. Many times your hardness and lack of depth shows fear of being hurt again. Open up and let God heal your heart.

3. Among thorns. When you try to help others you must be mindful of people who might stifle and suffocate you, who constantly demand your time and energy. Set healthy boundaries to avoid exhaustion. Don’t let them suffocate the best in you and learn to enjoy your life and your service with a fair limit. Remember, you can’t give everything. Protect your joy and cherish the peace and unique gifts that God has given you.

Never forget that something good is on the way!God bless you and guard you, in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
