Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 17,14- 20
A man came up to Jesus, knelt down before him, and said,
“Lord, have pity on my son, who is a lunatic and suffers severely;
often he falls into fire, and often into water.
I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
Jesus said in reply,
“O faithless and perverse generation, how long will I be with you?
How long will I endure you?
Bring the boy here to me.”
Jesus rebuked him and the demon came out of him,
and from that hour the boy was cured.
Then the disciples approached Jesus in private and said,
“Why could we not drive it out?”
He said to them, “Because of your little faith.
Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain,
‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Knelt down before him
1) Epilepsy. Spiritual epilepsy can resemble a fear that takes over the heart, leaving a person paralyzed, confused, and unable to distinguish reality from what anxiety creates within. That’s why it’s so important not to push others away, but to allow people to help you and bring calm when fear begins to overwhelm you. Sooner or later, reality confronts us all. Those wounds are healed through prayer and tears, but healing also requires the humility to accept support when life knocks you down.
2) Often. At times, we become our own worst enemies. We remain in painful relationships because we fear what others might say, or we close ourselves off to new possibilities and cling to old patterns we already know do not work. It’s important to recognize that every choice carries consequences. You can’t keep punishing yourself for the past, and you can’t expect a different outcome if you continue living by the same formula.
3) Faith. Some things can truly change through prayer. That’s why it is essential to look within and examine your relationship with God. Life’s challenges require effort, but they also require prayer. Nothing meaningful is achieved without commitment, and nothing deeply difficult is overcome without turning to the Almighty.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
