Matthew 3, 36-43

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano
Matthew 3, 36-43

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 3,36-43.

Jesus dismissed the crowds and went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”
He said in reply, “He who sows good seed is the Son of Man,
the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one,
and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
Just as weeds are collected and burned (up) with fire, so will it be at the end of the age.
The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers.
They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Lord, explain us!

  1. Returned home: it is the place where Jesus is with his people, where He shares with them, the evangelist shows us his human side. This is what we cannot lose, we should connect and share with our families. We should disconnect from our accelerated life, when we go home we continue working, cleaning, doing laundry, etc. We should get together with our family and spend time with them, have a tea or coffee, talk about our things, explain life with our testimony.
  2. They asked him to explain: Today you and me, we both ask Jesus to explain us why there are things in life that we do not understand. We don’t understand why good people are killed, why good people leave this world so early, why there is so much injustice in the world…So many things that we don’t understand but that someday we will sit down with Jesus and He will explained us, that is for sure.
  3. The seed: Today, look at your life and take a look to the type of seed that is on your heart, what is everything that moves you to live, that makes you serve others, what is it that identifies you and makes you give good fruits to others. You and only you know what you can give and make in others. We need to be satisfied from your fruits, from the seed that you have and that you have worked with time.
    Satisfy others!

God bless you and be with you, in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
…and do not forget: Heaven is Our Goal!
