Luke 8,1-3

Luke 8, 1-3

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 8,1-3.

Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God. Accompanying him were the Twelve
and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.

He went out with them to preach.

1) He Traveled: To be like Jesus, we must be willing to move out of our comfort zones. We can no longer just hold meetings, or wait in our homes to evangelize, we have to go out and be the hands and feet of God. Jesus did not stay in one spot long, He was constantly going to those who needed Him. Be like Jesus: be bearers of life, love and faith.

2) The 12: The disciples followed Jesus and in doing so they learned what they needed to evangelize to others. To know how to be like Jesus, you must follow Him. We can’t literally walk with Him, but we can read His teachings and spend time with Him in prayer. They way of a disciple is to spend time with the Teacher and then go and spread the message. By walking with the disciples, Jesus taught us to be in community with God, sharing and giving strong testimonies of faith and the importance of communion with others.

3) Women: I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every woman who works for the glory of God. I want to thank you for teaching others about Jesus even when you are not valued for the work you do, or even when you are mocked. Thank you for the testimony you give us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, because like those women who followed Jesus, you will continue the message of Christ. Thank you for embracing the love of Jesus. Thank you for your service to the Church.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
