Luke 2, 36-40

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 2,36-40

There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage,
and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer.
And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem.
When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.
The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.

There was also a prophet, Anna.

1) She did not separate from the temple even in her old age, she was 84; this is a characteristic that Anna has. She is a woman that immerses herself in prayer and contemplation. The gospel teaches us her way of life. The life that has reached maturity and walks hand in hand with God. Place your life with God and act toward others from God’s perspective.

2) To be thankful, today we must thank what we have lived, what we have battled and what we have faced. Is there a need to give thanks? Yes, of course, you and I must always be thankful. I leave you with homework, please think of 5 things you are thankful for this year.

3) To grow. We cannot remain stagnant. We must grow, fight and walk in the life God has given us. Let’s pray to God to give us strength to be men and women that grow and fortify the community through this religious maturity.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Always remember Heaven is our Goal.
