Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11,29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.”
Lent is a time for conversion
1) To change: we must change, there are things that cannot continue as they are in your life, and what makes life harder is your lack of decision to be a better person where you are stuck between a rock and a hard place going nowhere. The hardest part is you accept it and are not willing to change. You even create lies on why you are not able to change.
2) Look: you must look for the signs God gives us in your life. Signs of things you must change, and signs that require a close examination on your part. You must make a conscious choice. You must assume your part and accept the challenge.
3) Everyday life: the change we must do every day and the fight must be constant as well. The conversion is a daily task that is accomplished minute by minute. We must confront the problems like a boxing match, the first that throws a punch is not the one that wins, but the person who resists and knows where and when to hit. Do not look at the hits that you have received rather look where and when to hit to win the fight to sanctity. Happy Wednesday!
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Remember: Heaven is our goal!
