Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 12,28b-34
One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him, “Which is the first of all the commandments?”
Jesus replied, “The first is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
The scribe said to him, “Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, ‘He is One and there is no other than he.’
And ‘to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself’ is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
And when Jesus saw that (he) answered with understanding, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to ask him any more questions.
To love God is to love others
1) God has his share: in your life, God has his share, even if you have little faith, He showers your heart everyday in order for your faith to grow. God is the engine that allows you to go on each day, even on the days where you feel beaten. God needs you to give Him space in your life. He needs to occupy the most important place in your heart.
2) The next person is your neighbor: it is not easy to love the people around us. Human relationships are hard and what is hardest is to see Christ in others. Christ that was crucified and hurting is hard because you must see others through the perspective of their miseries.
3) To face hardships as they come: in life we must encounter with adversities that make our heart tough. But we must face the music and face our problems. With careful observation we find the strategy to solve any adversity. The key is to distinguish when it is appropriate to make a move. A Christian that has a tough heart is not a Christian. Face your problems, God is always with you.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
And remember, Heaven is our goal.
