Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 15, 3-7
Jesus addressed this parable to the Pharisees and scribes:
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them
would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.”
Heart of Jesus, I put my trust in You
1) He goes out. Jesus goes out to look for us, because he has a heart that loves. When you love, you go out and look for those you love, not out of selfishness but because you want to do good to them. You and I must ask Jesus to give us a heart like his, to be able to go out and look for that relative whom we haven’t seen for years, or that friend you have distanced yourself from, or that person with whom you shared part of your life and you don’t even know where they are now because of your accelerated lifestyle. Go out and look for that person.
2) Joy. On this day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, let us ask for joy. Learn to rejoice with the happiness of others, seek to create a good atmosphere among the people around you. Contribute to create a warm environment with those you live or work with. Be good-hearted.
3) Conversion. What joy it is to see people who find God and change, change for the better! We should be filled with joy for those who manage to come together with God and not go around seeing what they are doing and whether they are in a church group or not, or in which group they are. Surrender to Jesus and I assure you that you will walk with joy along his path. Say “Heart of Jesus, I put my trust in You.”
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Always remember that Heaven is our goal.
