Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 9, 32-38
A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus,
and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke.
The crowds were amazed and said,
“Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
But the Pharisees said,
“He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”
Jesus went around to all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues,
proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom,
and curing every disease and illness.
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.”
Being able to talk about things
- Mute. When you don’t talk about what is happening to you and you keep many things to yourself, you can begin to feel internally divided, and you may even feel you’re going through a living hell inside. Keeping quiet for fear of what people will say, or because there is no other alternative, or simply because you don’t know what’s going on in your life can lead you to have no peace in your heart. When you don’t express what you’re going through, your body ends up expressing it through illnesses that are the result of your silence, such as diabetes, blood pressure or insomnia. Today, ask God for the ability to speak and heal yourself in him. Say what you have to say and speak to whom you must. Healthy and respectful speaking is preferable to unhealthy silence.
- Prince of demons. The Pharisees destroy Jesus, even when He does good to others. In our midst, there are evil, difficult people, who criticize us even when we help others. They no longer criticize Jesus for who He was, but for the way He healed. Many times, in our family, in our workplace and even in the Church, people criticize those who do good deeds. Therefore, be prudent and be careful with those close to you, because when everything goes well, they shake your hand and applaud you, but when they see one single negative point in you, they’ll let go of your hand and criticize you.
- Laborers. We must remember that all the baptized are evangelizers, and that to announce the Gospel is to take the good news that God is always with you. Let us be witnesses of Jesus, proclaiming life, and be not prophets of calamities, proclaiming the truth even showing our limits, and not living in a lie, as if we were superheroes. We must be missionaries of mercy and not finger-pointers of those who have sinned and fallen.
Remember something good is on the way!
God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
