John 3, 16-21

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 3, 16-21

God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come toward the light,
so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light,
so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

God’s love

1. Life. Religion and faith aren’t meant to weigh you down or trap you in a world of fantasy. Instead, they are meant to nourish and encourage you to live fully, helping you discover your “why” and your purpose. Keep turning to faith and religion for the things that inspire you and give you strength. We should be people who are strengthened by faith, not fanatics of it. Those who find strength in faith know how to find good in everything, while fanatics just believe they’re right and everyone else is wrong.

2. Judging. Throughout the history of the Church, God has sent messengers to remind us that the heart of the Gospel is mercy. Faith should inspire how you live your own life, not to be used as a tool to judge others. Today, give yourself the chance to walk alongside others in their faith journey rather than standing in judgment over them.

3. Light. Sometimes people choose darkness over light because they’re afraid of what others might think, or simply because it’s the easier path. Keep seeking clarity today and commit to being honest about who you are. Don’t let the fear of being yourself force you into living a lie. Lies only lead to more lies, and appearances always have an expiration date.

Never forget that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
