Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11, 29-32
While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,
“This generation is an evil generation;
it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment
the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation
and she will condemn them,
because she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation
and condemn it,
because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
and there is something greater than Jonah here.”
Listen and change
1. People gathered. Today many people are looking for God, in one way or another they’re looking for some kind of relief for their lives in something supernatural. We Christians don’t propose an ideology or a magic recipe. We believe in a living person, Jesus, and give testimony of him. There are times when people look for God in supernatural things and they get caught up in that. They look for a healer priest or seek out a miraculous place, they look for someone to interpret their dreams or a miraculous image to help them, and so on. But Jesus shows us that we can find him in the simple, in tiny everyday things, and He gives us signs that He is at our side. Look for him inside you, in your silence. Look for him in your simple and humble prayer, in your own words. Look for him in your room, in your family, among your friends, in your own and in the sacraments. I can assure you that there’s something more extraordinary than what you think is extraordinary.
2. Signs. Every day there are signs that show you the presence of God; moreover, in your daily life and in your life history there are signs that answer many questions that you are wondering about. Ask God to make you see, to make you aware of what He wants for you and from you, and of where you are heading. Ask him to open your eyes to have clarity in your life and, above all, to have a clear idea of where to go. Try to find the calm to see the signs that tell you what you must do or where to go. Many times, these signs are before your eyes but you may not be aware of them. Therefore, take your time to consider them carefully; analyze the signs before you decide. Do not make decisions without considering things carefully, because you can make mistakes. Signs are the clues to make the right decisions to fulfil your life, in life plan that God has for you, for your happiness.
3. Evil generation. I can’t say that everything is smooth in life, no! I must also tell you that there is evil all around and many people who are evil, but we shouldn’t get caught up in that. We must keep moving forward like athletes. Athletes have the goal in mind. Even when they know they are no longer the first, they still go on to the end. We must do the same, even if we fall or stumble or if someone tries to block our way, we still go on to the end. Even if people hurt you, you go on. There are many who want to celebrate with you your arrival at the goal, the goal of life.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and protect you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
