Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 4, 31-37
Jesus went down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee.
He taught them on the sabbath,
and they were astonished at his teaching
because he spoke with authority.
In the synagogue there was a man with the spirit of an unclean demon,
and he cried out in a loud voice,
“What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!”
Jesus rebuked him and said, “Be quiet! Come out of him!”
Then the demon threw the man down in front of them
and came out of him without doing him any harm.
They were all amazed and said to one another,
“What is there about his word?
For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits,
and they come out.”
And news of him spread everywhere in the surrounding region.
Authority
1. He taught. In this life, you too will be someone’s teacher, and someone will always learn from you. Whoever has the ability to teach gains authority through their teaching. Whoever teaches with their life builds authority through their life. You have authority when you push forward despite life’s blows. You have authority when you show others that it’s possible to overcome challenges. You are a lesson and an authority when you know you can learn from someone else. Life teaches you, and you teach with your life, and what you learn from experience often carries more weight than a degree.
2. Cry out. In this life, we face situations where we feel divided and overwhelmed. That’s where your internal struggle and self-confrontation lie. You must understand that you need to be honest with yourself and know how to talk about what’s happening to you. It’s through your sincerity that you can overcome what divides you. Expressing your inner hell can lead you to an external heaven in the future. So, give yourself the chance to speak about what’s difficult and what pulls you apart, to let yourself be helped and rebuilt from what makes you whole.
3. Fame. It’s important to understand that you shouldn’t chase fame with what you do; instead, fame is a consequence. Don’t persist in seeking fame, because every famous person eventually realizes that fame isn’t eternal. Remember, the word fame comes from Latin and means “report, rumor, or reputation”. Fame is rooted in the idea of “a person who gives others something to talk about”. Therefore, if you open yourself to fame, you must accept that people will talk about you. Don’t cling to fame, but rather to what you are passionate about, and let that passion generate your fame.
Remember something good is on the way!
God bless you and guard you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
