Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28, 16-20

The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

I am with you always

1. Galilee. Jesus continually calls us to return to our beginnings—the starting point of our calling. That’s why, in moments of doubt or when you face a deep crisis, it’s important to look back and remember what first motivated you to begin your journey. Remind yourself why you chose your partner, why you committed to your vocation, or why you made significant life decisions. When I experience a crisis in my priesthood (because I have them, too), I need to reflect on the reasons I chose this path. Often, the answers to the questions that trouble us are found by revisiting our origins. If you can no longer find those answers, make your decision from that place of clarity. Love and vocation aren’t simply discovered; they’re built step by step, through daily effort and commitment. This is why Jesus sends the disciples back to Galilee: so they can remember where they started and how their journey began. The crisis of the Cross robbed them of their identity and their sense of purpose. If you’ve lost sight of who you are or why you live, return to your roots and rediscover your essence.

2. Go. I like the word “all,” since Jesus calls us to reach out to everyone. Too often, the Church has forgotten this, focusing only on some people, or filtering who deserves to be brought to Jesus. But we’re not called to be “gatekeepers” or “customs officers.” As Christians who have encountered Jesus, our mission is to share Him with everyone, without exception.

3. I am with you. How comforting it is to know that Jesus never abandons you and is always by your side. This is the foundation of your life and mine: the assurance that He is present and invites you to move forward without fear, because He holds you close. This week, I invite you to step outside of yourself—have the courage to face challenges and live life fully, without fear or prejudice, because God is with you.

Never forget that something good is on the way.

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
