Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 8,19-21
The mother of Jesus and his brothers came to him
but were unable to join him because of the crowd.
He was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside
and they wish to see you.”
He said to them in reply, “My mother and my brothers
are those who hear the word of God and act on it.”
Because of the crowd
1. His Mother. Over time, you realize that life brings people into your world who can become even more present than your own relatives. You may have brothers and sisters by blood, but there’s also family by choice—the people who stand by you in hard times and help hold you up when you’re falling. Blood ties matter, but they only go so far. Often, the people who stay through thick and thin aren’t the ones who were there when you were born. So value the chosen family life places in your path, because life is always giving us new ways to belong.
2. The crowd. It’s easy to let the crowd pull you away from your family and the people you love. Don’t let the daily grind steal the moments that matter with those closest to you. And don’t let people who only come to you when they need help make you forget your roots, the family and close friends who keep you grounded. Make time to step back, breathe, and find your own space.
3. They act on it. What truly matters is doing God’s will. The key is building a close, personal relationship with Christ and finding real joy in life. Give yourself the chance to live your faith with God, listen to what He’s asking of you, and keep looking within so you can understand what He wants for your life.
Don’t forget that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
